Gameplay Animator - Arena

Creative Assembly are looking to hire an experienced Gameplay Animator to join our Total War Arena team.

We’re looking for an animator who is ready for a new challenge and has a proven track record working on AAA titles. The key person will be an accomplished animator with a good technical ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create gameplay animations (locomotion, combat and idles) for use in-engine
  • Integration and validation of animations (into game) using in-house tools.
  • Profiling and optimising existing animation assets.
  • Communicate and work effectively with other departments (designers, programmers, artists).
  • Proactive and able to problem solve.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience


  • Knowledge of 3D animation packages (MotionBuilder, Maya, Max). Motion Builder preferable.
  • Experience dealing with in-game animations. (both creation and integration)
  • Strong hand-key animation skills for both human and animals.
  • Experience working with motion capture data.
  • Solid understanding of animation principles.
