We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious Battle Game Designer to join us and work on exciting new projects in our Total war franchise. This role is based at our studio in Sofia, Bulgaria. 
We are looking for a inspired Battle Designer to join our team and help us with the creative vision and immersive battle experience in Total War. You will be working on new projects with your highly skilled designers, programmers, artists and more in the mature and experienced Total War team. You will have the opportunity for personal and professional development alongside some of the best creatives in the industry with a huge impact on the game experience, immersion and quality of the games. 
 
This role is based in Sofia, Bulgaria and would require successful candidates to be able to relocate to the country of employment.

Key Responsibilities
 
As a Battle Game Designer you will take full ownership and responsibility of multiple features and content connected to the Tactical Battles are of the game and ensure they are fully delivered and implemented to highest quality. This is to include researching, creating, and balancing units, implementation, and more. 
You will work as a part of a team, collaborate and communicate with other designers, artists and programmers working on the features that you are responsible for. You will regularly communicate updates to various disciplines in the team; be proactive in communicating progress and solving problems. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining fun and balanced systems. 
 
Knowledge, Skill and Experience

Essential

  • Have experience of working on a strategy game as a core/balance/system designer or be an avid strategy player with deep understanding of gameplay, systems and balance.
  • You will have experience of balancing large sets of numbers, for unit balance, progression systems etc. or on core systems design and seeing those designs through to execution and with ongoing support.
  • You will be working with multiple disciplines in a team-oriented environment and must be able to clearly communicate ideas and goals.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and written in English.
  • You must be able to listen to and be open to feedback and integrate that into your work.
  • Obsessive gamer, interested in why things work, not just what and how.
Desirable
  • Experience of development of a title from start to finish with an understanding of the process of delivering the game is a plus
  • Deep understanding of Total War 
  • Wide understanding of the full range of games in the strategy genre 
  • Great attention for detail and strong visual sense 
  • Strong historical knowledge is a plus
  • Strong familiarity with the Warhammer universe
