CA donates studio profits from DLC sale to Ocean Generation

December 22 2021 | Legacy Project

Creative Assembly is donating studio profits from the 2021 Steam Winter Sale for Total War: Warhammer – Realm of the Wood Elves DLC to Ocean Generation, a global movement working to tackle Ocean threats.

The Realm of the Wood Elves DLC unlocks the secretive nation of the Wood Elves as a playable race within Total War: WARHAMMER and Total War: WARHAMMER II. They are the defenders of the great forest of Athel Loren and as such can call upon a myriad of fantastical warriors and beasts to protect all things natural and pure within the The Old World.

To celebrate the Winter holidays, the Steam Winter Sale will run from the 22nd of December until January 5th. You can support Ocean Generation by clicking this link and grabbing a copy of Realm of the Wood Elves.

Ocean Generation is Creative Assembly’s Charity of the Year for 2021, as voted on by employees. Ocean Generation is an inclusive global movement that exists to restore a healthy relationship between humanity and the Ocean. They see a world where the Ocean is freed from human threats within a generation. They are empowering an inclusive global movement to tackle Ocean threats through science and storytelling.

Brad Davidson, Head of Youth Engagement at Ocean Generation said;

“Ocean Generation will use the donations to engage with even more children in Ocean action and protection, globally. By changing mindsets of our youth, we can educate and inspire collective action and promote tangible behaviour change, all while fostering a sense of agency. With Creative Assembly’s donations we will further develop Ocean Academy which is one of our key youth education programmes.”

Creative Assembly and Ocean Generation have also launched ‘Ocean Hack’, a game concept competition aimed at educating young people. This aims to give young people between the ages of 8 – 11 the opportunity to design a game to raise awareness of sustainability and the ocean. The project will demonstrate how gaming can be used as a tool for education and to motivate players to engage in topics they may not be so familiar with.

You can now sign up for Ocean Hack here.
